Local heroes – Lisa Tang

Lisa_tang The public spaces along the Regents Canal between the Islington Tunnel and York Way have improved enormously thanks to the work of local volunteers.  The green spaces there are now attractively planted and there is much mosaic and art work.  Lisa Tang has been a driving force in galvanising this work – in fundraising and actually getting things done.  Lisa’s work has been written up in the Eyes for Islington magazine as a stand out example of community volunteering.  You can see the peice with some good photos here Download eyes_newsletter_autumn_06_draft_2_p3.pdf
Lisa says:

“I do this work because I have been living in Islington for over 13 years and like the
area. I intend on living here for a long time and I want my son to be proud of where he
lives and comes from, and appreciate his surroundings”.
