Way back in 2006 there was a persistent problem with fly tipping of builders waste and large items such as mattresses on Tilloch Street – a remnant of the old grid system in the so-called 'Bemerton slum' which was cleared in the 1960s/70s to make the Bemerton Estate. With the support of Paul Convery and others we got the old bollards restored – they had been vandalised, we suspected by local businesses. This website has been running long enough now to have this sort of local history. Now i see that the central bollard has been cast aside and possibly damaged – it isn't clear whether anyone will put it back – might be worth the council having a look at what is going on.
